Happy New Year!

Posted by Heather On January - 19 - 2010

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you rang it in exactly the way you wanted or hoped! :-)

Josh and I spent our New Years Eve, one working and then at the Scott household during their party that evening! We had a lot of fun playing games, laughing and eating with everyone who was on hand! A little champagne toast at midnight and 2009 was over! Crazy, where did the year go?!

We then spent the next two days laying around on the couch enjoying the rare opportunity to do nothing! (It had been a busy couple of months, especially the last couple weeks of it!) :-)

But we didn’t do completely nothing, we talked over everything coming up this year, including certain goals we want to achieve before some events… In doing so, we have lined out a plan of attack for our year! So we’ve been working hard together and we’ll see how things go! Hopefully we’ll be able to post some updates later on, but for now things are so new I don’t want to jinx ourselves!

Anyway here is some exciting events upcoming in the world of Josh and Heather for 2010:

First up, we have a trip to NY at the end of this month, so be looking forward to lots of pictures and stories from that!

In March there’s going to be a big party to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa Meinert’s 50th wedding anniversary! It promises to be quite memorable since a lot of family will be in attendance!

We have a possible trip to Victoria Canada being planned for Josh’s birthday in July.

Then of course, our Alaskan cruise in September to celebrate my big birthday! :-)

Probably a small weekend trip in October to Phoenix to see my cousin Megan get married!

And if everything goes as we hope it does, we should hopefully have a big announcement to make before the holidays begin at the end of 2010!! But that’s all up to God’s perfect timing! :-)

Lots of fun and excitement lined up for us in the new year! Thanks to each of you for being a part of our lives and memories! XOXO!

December

Posted by Heather On December - 30 - 2009

So our December was rather hectic and busy, yet there aren’t any major events that warrant their own post.

Other than our one beautiful boating day, we didn’t really get another dry (or warmish) day to decorate the house. I did put up some lights in the windows and of course our trees and inside decorations. (Yes I said trees, as in plural- We had a second tree donated to us last year, so we put it up in the downstairs great room this year and decorated it!) Unfortunately I never got around to taking any pictures, sorry, but the second tree was rather barren any way, so you didn’t miss anything! We’re making plans to go all out next year, so I promise some good pictures then!

On Sunday the 12th, AnnMarie and I had our baking day which has become a tradition for us! She willingly helps me with the treat buckets I send to family and friends! Her help is sure appreciated- An extra set of hands can really speed up the process (and her double ovens don’t hurt things! He, he!) We enjoy the chance to hang out and cooking/baking together is a favorite pasttime for us!

That Monday, I mailed out almost all of the treats to everyone, except for a couple that had extra presents I needed to finish up, but those were sent out about a week later!

I actually had Christmas Eve off, which was so nice! I spent the day baking some more goodies for our neighbors (we have such great neighbors! Everyone is so nice and friendly!) We also had a few invitations for Christmas Eve fun, but Josh wasn’t feeling too well, so we stayed home and relaxed…

Christmas morning we got up and opened the presents our families had sent us, as well as the presents we had gotten for each other! Josh got me a beautiful diamond pendant necklace! I started balling when I opened it! (Even cried some more when I called my Grandma to wish her Merry Christmas and I happened to tell her about it!) Josh had received his major present early, a beautiful new drum set he had been eyeing for a while- So Christmas morning he got to open an instructional manual to teach him how to play it!! Ha, ha! :-)

We then made our way over to Doug and AnnMarie’s for the Christmas day festivities with the family! Josh and Doug went out to do some work on the Scott family’s new boat while AnnMarie and I did what we do best, cooked and gabbed! :-) After a while everyone else arrived and we had a lot of fun laughing and eating all together! It was a wonderful day full of love and the joy of Christ’s birth!

Merry Christmas to each of you, we hope yours was just as great! XOXO!
